META Ethical Strategies

But today's seller, more than ever, is informed and discerning, so if you don't have a set of ethics that jibe with the core values of the homeowner herself, you won't get the listing. Real estate in Mississauga is changing for the better.

However, can being ethical help sell a home? One hundred percent YES..

FACT The Age of Authenticity is upon us, and everybody's BR* is attuned more than ever. (*BR=Bulls**t Radar)
STRATEGY BE authentic. Build trust with your seller to enable yourself to work at full capacity.

The most productive way for a Realtor to sell a home begins and ends with the trust built between her and the homeowner. If the homeowner trusts the Realtor implicity, then that gives the Realtor the mobility needed to do whatever it takes to sell the property successfully. This trust can only be gained if the seller feels like the Realtor is someone they would invite to a family dinner. That is, if the Realtor is genuine, clear, responsible, and hard-working. Only when this trust is established can the Realtor employ free reign over her core-competencies to sell the homeowner's property.

STRATEGY BE authentic. Present a genuine and trustworthy front to enable property assuredness in the minds of prospective buyers.

This held true fifty years ago, and it still holds true today. If an open-house attendee cannot trust the selling agent, they cannot trust the house. And if they can't trust the house, they will not purchase it. Furthermore, if the buyer has an agent, the buying agent must trust the selling agent (theoretically) for the same reasons. Buyers need to be assured that the property they are considering to purchase doesn't have too many problems that will come up and bite them in the keister at a future date. Honesty and forthrightedness just saves time anyway. If a home inspection reveals something contrary to what the buyer has been told, the deal is over and everybody is back at square one.

Ethical Strategies
Although real estate professionals, in the public eye, are probably not as "despised" as lawyers, we're not exactly loved, either. (The only people who fete real estate professionals are their brokers... at banquets.... if they commission over a certain amount.)

Theoretically, this is why three-quarters of licensed Realtors eventually fail and change careers - it's the authentic that survive. If you're not authentic, if you're not honest, if you're not trusted... then you won't get referrals. And referrals are a real estate professional's lifeblood.

Google sell houseObviously, anyone can go online and Google "How To Sell A House", and chances are, if they have the intellect, the work ethic, and the time, they can sell their house without the experience and help of a commissioned Realtor. However, thankfully for Realtors, not many have "the time", so the Crackberry still rings.
